Description
Tripp was born 27 weeks premature and later developed NEC (necrotizing enterocolitis) which resulted in him losing over 90% of his small intestines. Due to the complications of NEC Tripp is now considered ultra-short bowel and has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Tripp has been in the hospital for almost 5 months and has a possible surgery date for his reanastomosis on December 19th. Once he has surgery he is looking at another 6-8 weeks of recovery before he will be discharged. Before discharge the family will be getting trained on the equipment and how to care for his central line and gtube at home.
